D. Permissions We Request
Depending on platform capabilities and enabled features, KidsiCube may request permissions such as:
- Usage Access Permission
- Used to understand which applications are opened and for how long so we can provide wellbeing insights and screen-time guidance.
- Accessibility Services (If Enabled)
- May be used solely to support launcher functionality, app visibility controls, focus tools, or digital wellbeing features.
- Notification Access (Optional)
- May be used to reduce distractions and provide wellbeing reminders.
- Location Access (Optional)
- If you turn on location tracking, we collect the child device's location — including periodically in the background — so you can view its location and set up safe zones with arrival/departure alerts in the KidsiCube dashboard. Location tracking is off by default and only begins after you explicitly enable it and grant the permission; you can turn it off at any time in Location & Safe Zones settings.
- Content Safety Monitoring (Optional)
- If you turn on content-safety monitoring, the child device checks notification previews (and, on supported builds, incoming text messages) against an on-device list of flagged words and phrases, and logs newly added photos/videos as activity. This detection happens entirely on the device — only a short flagged excerpt (not full messages) or new-photo filename is sent to your KidsiCube dashboard when something matches. Photo and video content is never analyzed or uploaded. This is off by default and only begins after you explicitly enable it and grant the relevant permissions; you can turn it off at any time in Content Safety settings.
- Device Administration or Related Permissions
- May be used to support parental controls, app visibility management, and focus settings.
We only request permissions necessary to provide core functionality.
